Bologna Children's Book Fair 2026

The Instituto de Estudios Baleáricos (IEB) participates one more year in the Bologna Children's Book Fair, together with the Ramon Llull Institute, at the stand of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Enterprises, which takes place in Bologna from 13 to 16 April 2026.

IEB project managers Cristina Gaviño and Karen Müller attend the fair with an extensive agenda of meetings with international publishers to strengthen and widen the network of contacts of professionals interested in publishing books by authors and illustrators from the Balearic Islands. With this objective, this year the IEB also has a promotional space for Balearic authors in the Comics Corner area of ​​the fair.

Additionally, the IEB maintains the agreement with the organizers of the Illustrator's Survival Corner, so that two illustrators from the Balearic Islands -Toni Galmés and Francesca de Corso- participate in the teaching activities of the fair with a workshop given jointly by the two illustrators. The Illustrator's Survival Corner is an area dedicated to the professional community of illustrators that offers creators a platform for specialized training activities, the search for knowledge, as well as the establishment of new collaborations and opportunities to show their projects to publishers. The selection of the two Balearic illustrators was made through an open call from the IEB, which covers travel and accommodation expenses and the fees of the two participating illustrators.
